Term Fees

In addition to the annual insurance fee we have a $80.00, ($75.00 for the 2nd child) a term fee. This covers all incidentals associated with scouting and helps us run an involved and comprehensive program. In the event we have fees remaining they will go towards camps and excursions. We encourage this fee to be paid into our bank account at the beginning of each school term.

Fundraising

During the course of the year we run several fundraising events. Because all scouts benefit from these fund raisers we ask that all parents give a helping hand. If you are unable to help we ask for a further $80.00 per term to compensate for your absence. The funds we raise go torwards the upkeep of our buildings, as well as covering all the day to day running costs of the Den including Insurance, Water charges and Electricity.

Camps

Cubs attend between 2 and 3 camps a year. Some of these are organised by the region and some are organised by the group.

Scouts attend between 3 and 5 camps a year and will also take part in patrol activities organised and run by their fellow Scouts. As they progress up through the badge system they will also be invited to attend hikes. These will start off supervised and incrementally move towards being self-managed. The penicil of scouting is to complete the 30km 3 day hike unassisted. All scouts must get to this level to get their Australian Scout Medallion.

Venturers choose their own adventurer. They are mentored and generally supervised but are self - governed. They run their own program, set their own goals and earn their own way.

Uniforms

Our uniform consists of the Scouts Australia button up shirt, a hat and knee length Navy Blue or Sand Stone coloured shorts (we request that no short shorts be worn at Scouts). When attending official functions such as Queen Scout and the Australian Scout Medallion Ceremonies or ANZAC day marches and ceremonies sandstone knee length shorts or long pants must be worn. The Scout Shirt can be purchased from the website below. The shirt cost is $50.00 and the hat is $10.00, pants can be purchased at your own discretion.
A scarf, Woggle, Green Badge Book, Scouting Australia badges and district badges will be issued to your child once the full registration process has been completed.
